The EU’s Official Languages Directive (Council Directive No. 2010/64/EU) requires all technical product manuals to be translated into the languages of the EU’s member countries, currently into 24 languages. It would have been more practical to simultaneously offer a standardized AI-powered user manual template for all official languages to provide such technical translations in hamonized style. It would also reduce the cost and time involved in creating multilanguage user manuals and it would be easier to maintain and update different versions, but so far this has not happened and the translation agencies have been flourishing on the EU languages directive. We are no exception as we also localize technical user manuals from most of the official languges into Estonian.
